Meanwhile, in San Antonio...

This being the third year for Coach Wilson, it is time to start seeing UTSA start competing for conference champion or at minimal division champions. I was extremely hyped when Frank Wilson became the coach and still am, but after seeing some vanilla offense scheme last year, I fear we might be trending in the wrong direction.

"Boom!

And not only did UNT (9-5) and UAB (8-5) finish 1st and 2nd in the West (over USM and LA Tech), but both also beat USM and LA Tech, and beat us as well. Anyone who says we shouldn't be as worried about UNT and UAB as we should about USM and LA Tech needs to take another look at what's happened over the last 2 years with the new coaches at UNT and UAB. And as I noted on another thread months ago, 9 of UNT's 14 games last year were against bowl teams, making their 9-5 record look even better."  (Volkmar)

"You lost me here. LaTech and SoMiss I can see but UAB in just their second year back and UNT who we had a major cluster fuck at the end to lose are being used as something to be worried about? If this is accurate then we are not even rebuilding, we are trash. These should be at worst toss up games. Not an Omen we have to fear." - dmfdavid

LSU running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson has been offered the head coaching job at University of Texas at San Antonio, FootballScoop.com reported Thursday, and a deal is expected to get done.
Wilson and Oklahoma State defensive coordinator coordinator Glenn Spencer were the two finalists for the job, the site reported earlier Thursday.  A news station in San Antonio reported Wednesday that Spencer was the “most likely” hire for the Roadrunners and the San Antonio Express-News reported something similar.
The Roadrunners, though, chose Wilson, according to FootballScoop.
Wilson, a 42-year-old from New Orleans, just completed his sixth season with the Tigers. He’s helped bring in some of the nation’s best recruits while in Baton Rouge, including the Tigers’ No. 2-ranked signing group in 2014.
