Projected as a 5th or 6th round pick by the Eagles. Best of luck Jeffery!

Thanks for posting this!  I was just wondering what his draft status was.

Have we heard anything else besides this on him?

This is just one persons opinion. Most have him being an undrafted free agent. Here’s hoping his name gets called.

What do late round draft picks in the NFL get?  What's their likelihood of making the 53 man roster?

A better chance at sticking on a roster than a UDFA.

But from a forbes article about last year

"The 4-year minimum base salaries for players in this year's draft are as follows: $465,000 (Year 1), $540,000 (Year 2), $615,000 (Year 3), $690,000 (Year 4).

If eventually signed to a contract, each rookie drafted will get a 4-year deal, whereas undrafted rookies are only eligible for 3-year contracts."

if he gets drafted he can go anywhere, we need to end the drought.

What we need is guys who end up in spots they can have success and not just be a Training camp RB and is then cut..

Best would be he gets picked and is in a place to have success

Sometimes it is better to go Undrafted than picked.. Would rather see Jeff go UDFA than in Rd 7, because he can (hopefully) pick the best situation for his potentially.

Well, if you're picking in the 7th you have to see some niche potential in the guy usually anyway, but I generally agree.  He'd theoretically get to pick where he wanted to go as a UDFA, but that also depends on how many offers he'd get.

Very true, but an example I have used and will again is one that most of us fans should be aware of.

2 years ago, the Dallas Cowboys picked Zeke in RD1 and then took an RB from Eastern Michigan,  Darius Jackson, in RD6.

The question was asked when the draft was over, why pick Jackson over someone else since the cowboys had Zeke, Morris, DMac? The response was, because we liked him and knew we could not get him as a UDFA because of our depth. He was drafted and put onto the Practice Squad, and only later be signed off the PS by the Cleveland Browns later that year and used sparingly.

Yes it is great to pitch to recruits we had someone drafted, but UNT needs more active players.. As of now, only 2 UNT players are on Active NFL rosters...

terrill davis went in the sixth round to the broncos and he had great success. If you have the talent you can make anywhere.

True, but the reason for Davis and his success was the scheme.. just like how it helped multiple other RBs and most recently Alfred Morris.
