Great competitive game by the guys tonight. We still need a little more bench support, but when your go to guy goes 1-13 from deep it’s going to difficult to win. I’m hoping Miller gets it going soon. He was shooting over 40% from deep and averaging around 17 points a game. I’m wondering why he hasn’t adjusted better.

Watched and enjoyed the game, was not embarrassed, and admit to shouting profanities when we went so cold in the second half. The hustle was there! Looking forward to conference play.

NT just played a very good team which had to rally to win.   Obviously they played to stop Smart and were very successful, he is going to have to learn when not to shoot.   Announcers called Woolridge the best player on the floor at one point.

That team was very big and very good defensively, NT likely won't see that kind of talent in CUSA.

Now the real season starts.

Observations:

1.  Fun team to watch.  First time in a long I have watched us play a known school and not look lost.

2.  Woolridge was a stud.  Just a smart, cool player.

3.  Love our hustle all the time.

4.  Need to learn not to drive in to a block. Catch and shoot, catch and shoot, lr make the extra pass.

5.  This team will make some noise in conference.

6.  So nice to see a well coached team.

7-6 with a road win. And we were more than competitive in Norman, Arlington, and D.C. I don't think we had any better nonconference periods with Benford.

Benford's teams didn't win a non-conference road game in any of the last three seasons. In fact, they won one non-conference road game during his entire 5-year tenure and were consistently boat-raced. This was an impressive non-conference run in that we really made great strides and got better heading into conference play, which is exactly the point for us.

Absolutely. Even in just the time since the sour UTRGV loss, you can see a great difference.
