BE CIVIL TO ONE ANOTHER (AGAIN)

Folks we are not going to allow people to break the rules.  It is your responsibility to read them and know them.  We love civil discussion, we don't care what view point you have, but if you are uncivil to someone you will get a ban.

Let's go over some of them in detail.

  • While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.

Do not call people names.  You don't even have to call a specific person names.  Just implying that people who don't agree with you are dumb/stupid/suck-ups etc is enough.  Don't do it.  You will get a temporary ban for it.

On the flip side, if someone does call you a name, you do not have liberty to insult them back.  Hit the report button.  If you are uncivil in return to that person you will also catch a ban.

Now, the mods here try to do a good job, but we have real actual jobs.  We may miss someone being uncivil.  That is why we need you to use the report button.    If you see us miss one, that also doesn't mean you can respond in an uncivil manner in that thread or any other.

Yes, that means sometimes someone might get caught and someone else might not... if you are worried about that, use the report button.

  • Please do not hijack threads.  Hijacking means joining a thread and talking about something totally irrelevant to the subject, ie something radically different than the topic of the thread.

Using every single thread as an excuse to pull in some at best loosely related tangent is going to get you a ban as well.

Stop with the sock puppet accounts.  If we catch it we reserve the right to just delete them all.

  • We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.

Mods are the arbiters, our decision are final.    Which leads to...

  • Do not argue with the Admins about proper use and policy.

Do not do it.  I will tell you that I personally will talk with any of you about any decision VIA PM.  Do not argue in the thread, do not start a new thread to argue, do not even vaguely complain about decisions in other threads.   Other mods may not want those PM discussions, so tread lightly.

And last but not least:

Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.

We want this place to be an open and honest discussion of North Texas athletics.  However, "open and honest" does not mean "I get to feel better about my self by figuring out ways to name call while stretching the rules".  If you can't make your argument without attacking the persons behind it, don't do it.

Possibly unrelated, but I find it interesting this thread appears alongside the return of a formerly very active poster.

HOW DARE YOU!!!
