Trap game.

Agree. Focus on Rice, get a win, worry about the OTHER owls later. If we're not devouring owls this week, we'll be eating crow.

IMHO it's never a good thing when a team coasts into post-season play.  There are exceptions, but that always seems to be a recipe for post-season disaster.  Teams need to be hitting on all cylinders.  We are a young team and we still make a lot of mistakes on both sides of the ball.  The team has over-achieved this year and is not yet in a position to put it in neutral or overlook anyone.  Stay focused, stay hungry.  Play to win.  That is all.

We need the win.  Don’t let USM or UAB claim to be co-West Champions.  UAB plays UTEP next, so they’d likely end with matching conference records with us if we lose.  USM has a tougher challenge against Marshall.

(Yes, I know this doesn’t impact us going to the CUSA Championship Game.)

so by default then, they wouldn't be co west champs, simply based on head to head.

I don't know why so many think this.  If the conference record is the same, they would be co-champions.  Head to head is only important as a tiebreaker between co-champions to determine in this case who goes to the conference championship game.
