In Game Music - Idea!!!

You know how the BIG TIME programs always have some sort of signature song they play during the game.....  Why don't we???

I would suggest using some home grown "Star" music

Don Henley:

"All She Wants To Do Is Dance"

"Dirty Laundry"

"The End of Innocence"

OR....

Meat Loaf

"I'd Do Anything For Love"

"Bat Our Of Hell"

"Paradise By The Dashboard Lights"

"2 Out Of 3 Ain't Bad"

Who do we get in touch with????

Get The Whole Stadium Singing!!!

You don't consider "Pretty Woman" to be upbeat?

Great song, just not sure how it would sound with the band doing it. That great guitar rift opening would be had to duplicate.  "All She Wants to do is Dance."  Now, we may have something there. Lots of brass to that song.

It would sound great - Trombones and Tubas!  And they could sing a verse, a la "Hey Baby".

If it's not obvious, I'm suggesting replacing "Hey Baby" with Pretty Woman.  Lots of bands play "Hey Baby"; we can make "Pretty Woman" a signature song, since it's the signature song of an alum.

I'd also love for the band to play "Fly Like an Eagle" completely (with a better arrangement), with one verse sung.

Anything to "spice up" the bands presentation is OK by me. Great ideas, all.

Visitors to Harry's board may not know that Roy Orbison, Don Henley and Meatloaf are all 3 UNT alums.

Only thing I'd ever have in common with Henley is that Dr. Richard Sale was a favorite professor.  He was a Johnny Carson look-alike and one helluva' teacher.  I had great professors at North Texas, liberal or conservative. Some things you just don't let cloud your minds ability to learn.   I love all my liberal friends and relatives.  How could you not?   My religion tells me to love all.

so many modern and hip ideas! keep em coming!

How about the cannon just fires the ashes of a different longtime fan every couple of years while we do a unified chant over "Old Time Rock N Roll" complete with a jumbotron scroll of every grievance said fan had with the athletic department before they passed? Monetize it and require a $1000 donation and paperwork - like a Mean Green will.
