Huskers look to 'find a way to be better' against North Texas

North Texas returns three starters from a team that went 8-22 last season while losing 16 of its last 18 games. McCasland has one of the youngest rosters in Division I, with nine freshmen or sophomores and just two seniors.

Despite the resume, Nebraska can't yet show up and expect to win. The Huskers found that out Monday, in the process continuing a theme from their two exhibition games and a closed scrimmage: They made enough plays down the stretch to get the job done.

"I'm proud of our team because we found a way to win," senior guard Evan Taylor said. "It wasn't easy, and we knew we were going to have to grind, but we found a way to win."
