Mason Fine Statistical Update

Mason has thrown 18 TDs and 9 INTs this season.

I believe that's the most TDs anyone's thrown here since Mitch Maher threw 26 in 1994. I don't know where that ranks him, but it's out of the top 5, all of which is owned by Maher and Steve Ramsey. He is theoretically on pace to throw for 24, which would tie him at #2 with Ramsey and Maher.

Also, he has 2599 yards this season, putting him 6th for a single season at UNT.  He's currently on pace to throw for 3465 yards (in 12 games). Single season record is Maher's 3103, also in 1994.

For total career passing yards, he has 4171. This puts him at #7, behind Giovanni Vizza, who finished with 5146.

Funny enough, @aztecskin goes into detail about it here: https://meangreennation.com/mgn-podcast-utep-preview-2017/

I wasn't listening though otherwise I'd give you the tl;dr

Remember when Ramsey played, the max was 10 games and freshmen could not play.   Makes his numbers a lot more outstanding.   He is easily the best QB to ever play for NT.

With Fine's start, he could replace Ramsey as the best ever at NT.  Not talking about stats, Fine could end playing 22 or more games than Ramsey.  So stats don't mean much in a comparison, but Fine's leadership and ability could be the best ever as a NT QB if he continues to improve.
