I know I am going to stir the pot, but I also don't remember the band wearing shorts and tee shirts.  They were always in uniform.

Yes, but September and most October games started at 7:00 and we did not have daylight savings - equivalent to 8:00 start now with daylight savings.

This is around when they dumbed down the fight song, and started increasing the size of the band. It went from around 125 under McAdow, to around 200 in 77. It kept slowly increasing until it stabilized at about 250 for a decade or so.. Now the band is at 400. It's bloated and unwieldy.

They could limit the membership to just Music/Music Ed majors and be done with it. You'd likely cut the membership in half. I don't think they College of Music would make many "fans" that way though.

Those were some strange uniforms. Fry's apple green was on the front and the back was a darker green. Of course Fry left and the school changed to a different shade of green. Given the life span and expense of uniforms, it meant that the band was marching around for about 15 years in two shades of green that did not match the existing official green, adorned with a long abandoned flying worm!

These things only happen at North Texas.

I don't know. When I was at North Texas, I don't remember any night games. Kickoff was always early afternoon. After all, the final scores had to be reported to the Prudential College scoreboard which came on at about 4pm est.

95-97 green brigade member (non music major), we never wore shorts...always full uniform, third quarter we could remove our top
