The Heart of Dallas Bowl can say Big 12 all it wants to.  As long as we qualify for a bowl, we are probably going there and no Big 12 team is EVER coming there to play us.  The might show up to play Southern Miss or Marshall, but not North Texas.

All of these are fluid and they bowl people will NEVER let us play a P5 in a bowl (which I am fine with, by the way).

The Big 12 and Big 10 have both struggled to get enough bowl eligible teams to send to the HoD bowl. It's at the bottom of the pecking order.

If the Big XII supplies a team for the HOD bowl, it is likely a Kansas, Iowa State, KSU or Tech. All of them would be happy to play in a bowl game, especially a team they perceive they are likely to beat.
