I think it became clear after DT left that the offense was a hinderance to DT, not the other way around.

Some may lie, but every single UNT fan would give their left nut or ovary to  have DT behind center this year

Yep, Thompson always had a very good defense to come to his rescue when he couldn't move the offense on his own.....which was often.

I never once took a stand in this big debate, but somehow, you gathered your resolve and figured out that a decent QB is better than a make-a-wish kid, some quitters, a guy with a pool noodle taped to what was most likely an amputation, and the guy who is still learning how to put in real effort and practice.

That said, the team could also have scored 30 in every single game this season and would still have the same record, so really not sure why you're doing this, but I think everyone appreciates a new thread.

Tbh, I didn't think he would be so difficult to replace. There's really no reason we should be struggling to replace 2700 tds 1:1. 

With that said, if he didn't have that D backing him every step of the way we would have had a losing season in 2013 as well. That is truth and there is no hiding from that. So do I miss DT? No, not really.

For a guy who always demands greatness from UNT, I find it odd that you champion a QB that was nothing more than average...go look at his numbers and tell me I'm wrong.

Sure, I miss DT, but I miss our special teams and defense more because they were actually great.

I miss Derek Thompson like I missed my old 4x4 Dodge Ram after I got an F150.  Sure, it was what I needed at the time and got me through some tough mud, but it never would have lasted and if I had kept it I would still be bitching about all the things on it that need fixing.
