Regarding threads for players we aren't recruiting

As we head into final two weeks of the season, and await a new head coach to finally bring back some recruiting to this program, here's a quick PSA. 

The main purpose of this forum is to track the recruiting of our football program, and track the future of the team. Sometimes in this forum we'll take a look at what's going on around us at other schools, mainly our close competitors. We also sometimes have posts about players we are not recruiting, yet some of us think we should.

Regarding the creating of threads for players we are not recruiting: to anyone who knows of a player who you believe is interested being recruited and/or you believe the staff should consider recruiting, please email/make an attempt to contact the staff about the player. In all honesty, simply creating a thread on here for the player will do very little (if anything) to contribute towards him getting recruited.

If you want to discuss a player and ask for some other opinions regarding him, go ahead. Not singling out anyone. Just making it clear that this forum is not meant to serve as an exposure medium to the coaches who make the actual decisions on who we recruit.

Thanks, guys! Hope to see a lot of posting in December and January as the new recruiting starts to pick up.

Only reason for 0 big time offers he is 6'0" (pushing it) 170 lbs. good gosh the kid has JETS, and a canon.  He is the kind of QB the UNTs of the world have to get.  please tap into the potential you have 40 miles from your school new HEAD COACH. Mansfield, Frisco, Arlington, Mesquite, Garland, Dallas. PLENTY of talent, then add in your bEAST Texas boys and you should have a squad full of athletes that can compete and win at CUSA level.

Yes, this is definitely a guy I'm keeping an eye on. Thought about making him a thread but I'm going to hold off until we actually start recruiting him to UNT.

This kid has been looked at by the program in the past, but once Canales left he hadn't been in contact with since.

He's not a speedy guy, but was the MVP of a high powered offensive school led by Bob Shipley (Jordan Shipleys father).

With signing day coming up, wouldn't you think UNT would check back on some guys they missed out on previously?

Whatever the case, we are gonna need some Wide Outs to carry this offense for the next couple of years and I would think this kid is worth checking back on.

Coach Patrick and him have recently started following each other. Wouldn't be surprised if we went after him. Was being recruited by Baylor and Texas. Also got academic all-state, so definitely seems like he has a good head on his shoulders.

247 gives him 3*, but he has no offers... only interest in Big12 schools.  What's up?

seems to me that he kinda outgrew safety and moved to linebacker and fell off radar. Honestly don't know though but makes most sense considering scout wrote about him last year but is now only a 2 star there.

came here to mention his name as well.  Saw KP and Chico were following him and his highlight film shows some Laramie Lee like ability to bust some domes.

Looks like him and Filani have had contact. Doesn't have any offers but is a 3 star at 247. Looks like he was ejected and suspended for a couple games this year as well.

6'2"  175lbs

He has offers from a couple of D2 schools so far.  Those schools have told him they don't think they stand a chance of getting him after Christmas.

All transparency here:  I know him very well.  He has been evaluated by a couple of former DI coaches and they believe he is a D1 player and is flying under the radar. 

Interest from SMU, SFA, Sam Houston St. etc.

Has UTSA and Ark State (shows committed) offers. OC at Ark State left for Maryland job. Maybe he is open to options? 

I think that is not a bad idea actually.  Keep in mind, they are playing catch up and probably are still evaluating their options.  Kid can play no doubt.  I don't care if he is only 6 foot either.

Kane Hardin - only 5'11" and 180 lbs but he can run and the kid can sling it pretty well. Doesn't seem to be generating a lot of interest, probably due to his size

Coach Ekeler started following him on Twitter. He had offers from Baylor, Missouri, and Tech but he tore his meniscus in September and was out the rest of the year. His coach has been tweeting about him to smaller colleges now so I wouldn't be surprised if schools like Baylor, Missouri, and Tech pulled their offers. If they did I think this guy would definitely be worth taking a chance on.

He is also following North Texas pages and is following Canales so wouldn't be surprised if he has some interest as well.
