MGB: UNT makes cut for Kouassi

Recommended Posts

If Willy joins I will feel very confident in our chances to win 20 games. We still need a bit more size (maybe another walk-on?), but this would bode well for our team this season. We are ready to turn the corner!

from WholeHogSports:

Arkansas is expected to host center Willy Kouassi for an official visit.

Kouassi, 6-101/2, 233 has been granted a release from Kennesaw State and will play his senior year elsewhere. He plans to visit Fayetteville June 5-7.

His guardian, Darien Knox said Kouassi believes he would be a good fit in Arkansas' style of play and would allow him to flourish defensively.

He'll officially visit Western Kentucky this weekend. He will visit Memphis after the Arkansas trip and wrap up his visits to Ole Miss. He's already taken a trip to North Texas.

Kouassi and Razorback forward JaCorey Williams were teammates at Central Park Christian in Birmingham.

Coach Benford mentioned there was another young man who would be on campus this weekend that we are recruiting. He obviously didn't say a name as that would be a recruiting violation, but he seemed excited about this kid too. Here is to hoping we can land 2 good bigs to help usher Bryce along, and can let our guard play shine. I am looking forward to NT hoops again. We shall see how this goes.

Good info 24. I think Vito pointed out that it may well be a graduate transfer scenario unless it's a Kedrick Hogans deal where we find a hidden hs prospect that has not committed due to injury etc.

That would seem to be the most beneficial way to get it done this year, bring in experienced bigs who can bring Bryce along and then bank on the fact he gets it figured out (at the D1 level) and can dominate starting the following year.
