So I got a weird Final Four and interesting champion when I just filled out a bracket fast and furious without overthinking the games and teams.

I haven't had a weirder bracket unfold since I picked Utah many years ago to make it to win the championship. That was the year they lost to Kentucky in the championship game.

Boise in the Final 4? OK. Interesting that Mike/Jim Wacker's son/grandson plays for them. I've got Wisconsin over Gonzaga in the final (beating Wichita and UVA in the Final 4), even though common sense tells me that Kentucky will be there. SMU's lucky in a way to get a pretty weak UCLA team, but they'll get spanked by ISU if they get past the Bruins.

If Duke makes it past the Sweet 16 (they've had bad luck the first few rounds as of late)- I think they win the whole thing. Kentucky appears dominate, but they aren't as battle tested as Wisconsin or the Blue Devils IMHO. I think it'll be one of those three.

Which of course means it'll be someone else.

I think Arkansas is an underrated #5. They could end up in the final four.

Is anyone doubting Johnny Jones now? Him getting LSU in the big dance is huge and beating Arkansas on the road probably cemented it over A&M. Good for him.

I actually agree with you that Gonzaga is good but how could anyone not pick Kentucky to win it all? They have to be the biggest favorite the tourney has seen in some time.

My bracket looks terrible. I have Gonzaga losing in the first round to the NDSU Bison who upset Oklahoma last year - that's my boldest call.

I had 10 Ohio State defeating 7 VCU which they did.

I had 13 Harvard defeating 4 North Carolina - The Tar Heels had been inconsistent all year and Harvard has won a game in two straight NCAA Tourneys as a double-digit seed. The Crimson even had a two-point lead in the last minute after a furious rally, but UNC won on a 2-on-1 fast break layup.

I had 9 Purdue defeating 8 Cincy - another incredible game that did not work out in my favor.

I had 12 SFA defeating 5 Utah - close game but not over.

I have 14 Albany defeating 3 Oklahoma - Oklahoma got upset last year and Albany came close, I believe.

I have 11 Davidson defeating 6 Providence.

I finally had Notre Dame defeating Kentucky down the line.

My Final Four: Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Villanova, Georgetown. Villanova wins it all.

Nah...I don't think they waltz. Maryland will challenge them. They have good guard play and a decent big. They get past them they more than likely will play Notre Dame in the elite 8 and they can burn it from outside. Any team that can shoot 3's like Notre Dame has a solid punchers chance. They make it to the Final 4 they will probably play Wisconsin and they shoot the ball well, have an excellent big that can put their bigs in foul trouble and they don't foul (which Kentucky feasts on FT's). If they run that gauntlet and beat Duke/UVA/Villanova in the championship game they will, in my mind, be the greatest college team of all time (unfortunately).

I think my only upset pics were Ohio State, SFA, UCLA, UAB, and Dayton. I think those we my only upset picks. I try to only do between 5 and 7.

They are also not a very good half court team. So if a team isn't turning the ball over they typically have trouble scoring. They ALSO do not have a good half court defense. So if a team isn't turning the ball over they will more times than not get a good look at the bucket. If Marcus Paige plays well tomorrow UNC wins going away.

I just use the same strategy every year and it seems to work well. Any team that UNT a plays I pick to win Atleast one game. I did pick oklahoma state and LSU so there are two more misses for me. I do not count 8v9 match ups as upsets though. If UAB makes the sweet 16 and Arkansas and Lousivlle go deep I will be ok.

I just wish GMG a could do its own brack challenge. I usually just print and fill out a bracket and leave it up on the fridge or in my dresser.
