thus the tweet?

"Hey mom, I got an offer from UNT. Didn't you go there?"

"Oh ya, got my degree from there. I haven't been there since I graduated."

"Cool mom. I'm a teenager, so I'm gonna tweet that I got an offer from your alma mater!"

I am almost positive that is how it played out.

So in your mind, what percentage of UNT grads leave and never come back at all to visit?

Also with his Mom living in Arlington for example, what percentage of Grads that live in the metroplex and graduated from UNT never come back?

In personal experiences with people I went to school with? Maybe 1 out of 15 that I have casual contact with. Others have come back once for a tailgate. Because I invited them. They went to the tailgate but left before the game.

Sadly, this is our culture.

And all the people I referenced live in DFW.

Are you saying just for football games or just in general?

The football tailgate is the only reason ANY of them came back to campus for any reason.

My college roommate and I go to one basketball game a year. He is the one person that has come back. But he comes back for that one game and nothing else.

I'd hazard a guess that less than 10% ever come back after graduation.

You just have to take into account that our music department is huge and some come back for other reasons other than football but I think the number that come back is a lot larger than you think.

I am thinking 45%

our music dept is the 4th or 5th in size on campus, not huge. Outside of music majors, who knows or cares about it? If many people cared, our endowement wouldn't be so embarrassingly small.

Not a gateway, just an example that his numbers were way off.

Music Majors are really no different. 45% is a pipe dream.

If they were dofferent, our endowment would be substantially greater than poor.
