'15 ATH Chris Pogi (Oklahoma)

6'3" 220 lb athlete for Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City. Currently committed to New Mexico. Also has held offers from Tulsa and Wyoming. One-time Wyoming commit. Pogi played receiver and defensive end but he could also play tight end or linebacker in college. Would be a little undersized at DE, but he has quick hands and is a solid pass rusher. Name to keep an eye on.

anyone know what this kids 40 time is? I agree he is way too small to be a D-end at the next level but I do like how quick he is to the inside of the tackle and how he goes for the strip and creates turnovers. I love seeing guys that attack the football once they wrap up.

Last year we only had 10 FF versus 17 the year before with our bad ass defense. I know it doesnt seem like that big of a difference but that is 7 more chances our offense could of had to score. I would love to see our D next year get back to being stingy and go after the ball more.

If I told you he had some listing of a 4.56 somewhere, would it make you want him anymore than if I told you that number was 4.74? The film will show you how well the kid moves. Not some listing of a spare 40 time that a semi-retired coach or camp instructor hand clocked one time.

I could see him playing a number of positions in college. He also once won a camp MVP at tight end, so he could be a receiver/tight end hybrid as well.

A 4.7 LB or TE or DE is pretty nice in my mind. It was more of a curious question more than if he was .2 seconds slower I dont want him. I watched the whole film and i was impressed.

Few observations, he can really run the "ring", I love that. 2nd is I really hope they do not use this as the video they send to recruiting coordinators or show coaches who stop by. They put a still shot picture of him standing next to a ref, and an illegal peel back block. Love how he sinks his hips just before turning the corner on the OT. Pretty impressive ball skills. I say sign him up, put him at DE and go to work. I'll take 6'3" D-ends that make plays all day at UNT.

Think the kid could put on weight that he's missing I just don't get the not way to small comment, he is (if info is correct) 30 pounds lighter than Darryl Mason. Weight can be added so I don't think that is an automatic move from DE, although he looks like he has the motor to play a Will and cause havoc.

I like the kid. He seems like a play maker just lacking the ideal size. But those kids that are playmakers and have the size do not come here. I wouldnt mind taking a chance on him Grayshirt him and see what a year does to him.

Considering he is committed to New Mexico, I don't think asking him to grayshirt is an option.

But you're absolutely right that we need to take the kids who are studs but may be a little undersized.

A project all around, but I like him better as a receiver. Bailed out his scattershot QB *ahem* quite a bit. Needs to learn to tackle. Mostly saw grabbing, pulling, high tackles, needing help.

Not saying he can't play D, just looks more capable/comfortable as a physical TE.
