NCAA Clearinghouse ruling on A&M player

Player transfers TO Texas A&M and is quickly approved by the NCAA Clearinghouse. Player transfers FROM Texas A&M to North Texas and NCAA Clearinghouse just lets the paperwork sit on their desk gathering dust...

He was cleared because Houston (school he was transferring from) hired Kelvin Sampson. Sampson recently completed his 5-year show-cause, due to violations from his last coaching stint at Indiana.

The argument for House is that he, as a player, had no hand in the hiring and he didn't want to play for Sampson, due to Sampson's reputation. J-Mychal Reese, on the other hand, was kicked off the A&M team, which was completely in his control. That's the difference between House and Reese's situation. Reese will likely be eligible once the semester ends.

Reese chose to stay and pay his own way at A&M so he could still be on the team last year. Sadly if he had not done this he would already be eligible. Texas A&M is attempting to block us. They did not want him to go to a SEC school or any school in Texas.

Reese was paying his own way last year? Where did you see that? I don't know, I just always assumed he was on scholarship. Plus, I thought he would be on scholarship either way since his dad was a coach/employee of the university. Not sure how that works for athletes and basketball players in particular.

If he was paying his way, as a walkon, then A&M has no say in the transfer. But again, just giving facts. Not going into who is more right/wrong or immoral situations of these two kids. Just relaying the reported info on why House's waiver was granted and the major difference between that and Reese.

Last I heard Reese was paying his own way to be in the team his last semester after having his scholarship yanked. I also heard Texas A&M is attempting to block his play immediately status. This coud be inaccurate. I am just going off what I was told.

My apologies Andrew if I am wrong, but this makes no sense.
