  1. Saw him on the sidelines and I know he was injured this year. But man, this kid is a good looking athlete. Looks like 6-6, 250 ish from my eye. QB is just not in the cards with all we have coming back. What would be a good position for him? Many say tight end but I would like to see him at defensive end and possibly defensive tackle if he could put on more weight. They need to put him in the weight room and add 25 pounds in the off season. He could really help us. There are other players I think could move position as well.
  2. The last time we heard from Caleb Chumley, the Longview Pine Tree standout was something of a mystery man. The 6-foot-6 quarterback had committed to UNT, but there was always the question of what position he would play in college, if he would ever end up with the Mean Green and what his thoughts were on the whole process. - See more at: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2014/12/catching-up-with-caleb-chumley-creighton-barr.html/#sthash.Onw7OAFn.dpuf
  3. Received a note from a good fan who ran into Chumley at the last game. Said he is "a physical specimen" -- not sure where he ends up, but "he looks the part". Will be interesting to follow his career at UNT.
  4. Pirate post/forward Caleb Chumley had the same type of half for Pine Tree. After going 0-for-2 from the field with one rebound and one blocked shot in the two quarters, Chumley, a North Texas signee in football, used his 6-4, 240-pound frame inside to erupt in the second half for 19 points, 12 rebounds and a blocked shot. 5. It’s the Sunday afternoon before national signing day and the pieces are starting to fall into place for UNT. Here is where things stand as of now: – As we reported earlier, Elkhart running back Jeffery Wilson committed to UNT following his weekend visit. We will have more on him in tomorrow’s paper. He was one of the more productive small school backs in the state. I have mentioned that he could develop into more of a power back on the college level. I meant that as a comparison to Willy Ivery, who is a smaller, quicker guy in the class. The bottom line is that anyway one slices it, Wilson is a good get. read more: http://meangreenblog.dentonrc.com/2014/02/sunday-afternoon-recruiting-notes.html/
  6. Caleb is now wearing a Mean Green jersey #1! Twitter address is: https://twitter.com/c_chumley
  7. A foot injury cost Caleb Chumley most of his senior football season, but that won’t prevent him from getting the opportunity to play at the Division I FBS level. Pine Tree’s senior athlete, who has experience playing receiver and quarterback, will visit North Texas this weekend, he told ETSN.fm on Thursday night. North Texas is 1 of 9 schools that have offered Chumley, who also holds offers from Houston, Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Missouri, New Mexico State, Oregon State, and Texas State. Chumley said offensive coordinator Mike Canales and offensive line coach Mike Simmonds have recruited him for the Mean Green.
