The Elephant in the room (IMO) is our lack of attendance. Let's not stop talking about it. ABQ is an awful, boring town. But the bball culture - specifically attendance - is what we are striving for. If that was in Denton, the SP would be selling out regularly under Grant/Ross. And, if I'm Jared, I'm not getting complacent. The opposite: i'm getting angry. Fired up. i'm not going to give in to Denton being Denton. Fight it or let the next guy try. These things should be huge motivators.

But if he has an opportunity to graduate from a private school like Vandy, maybe his post-athletic career is heavy on his mind. Totally guessing, tho.

OT, but how does this percentage remain so high? Graduating college has been pushed so freaking hard, going back to the Boomers, that you would think this number would be much less than 20%. 20+ years ago, when I was finishing HS, it was the de-facto, this-is-just-what-you-do endeavor. And I was not even a Boomer. So how are we still seeing so many first gen college graduates?

I am not disregarding it, I'm suggesting we suck at recruiting, with or without NIL. NIL and the transfer rules are just making the entire process around us, in and outside Denton, move faster. I don't really care if this is statistically the worse offseason ever. I still handle emotionally it the same as any other bad offseason, which have been plenty around here. I'll still be around, watching and rooting for the Mean Green next year.

Gonna be honest: what's killing my Mean Green vibe is not actually NIL, it's all the Mean Green fans griping about NIL. I know we all have our reasons, but for me and my fandom, I'm pretty good as long as someone is representing Mean Green in college sports.
