  1. The other teams adjust and we do not which is why the sudden stall
  2. He did not tuck it and run at Iowa last year. From what I have heard is that he is very good at reading the Defense coverage which entails multiple reads. Those run plays last night were designed runs. He didn’t even drop to fain the pass. He is a run and shoot QB which is why different plays were called to take advantage of his style and capabilities.
  3. This is the second time I have seen Shanbour come off the bench cold and delivering big time for the Mean Green. At the end of the first half against Iowa being the first. I really think we have the 2 best QBs in Conf USA . That says something for a team which was struggling at QB under the old regime.
  4. You hit the nail on the head. This is all about padding Fine's stats. Shanbour has proven to be a capable player. They act as though there is no backup. If I were Shanbour I would be very upset.
  5. Never said he should start. It is a commentary in a facetious manner regarding Vito's deceptive and dismissive assessment of the kid. No brakes need to be tapped.
  6. Oh but there is a "significant drop off" should Fine ever go down!! Shanbour has no pedigree!! Walk ons rarely produce!! Now ask the Iowa Hawkeyes about his pedigree and if he can produce.
  7. Against Alabama A&M, Ball State, and Coastal Carolina. Feel better now?
  8. We have depth there. However, in light of the depth, your concern is valid in that leaving Fine in the whole game regardless of the score is dangerous to Fine's physical well being.
  9. Have anyone particular in mind? 😊 What is kind of funny is that Shanbour's story and performance is a journalist's dream but we are talking about an ego that refuses to admit he was wrong and thinks he is more knowledgeable than any of us and that we shouldn't trust our own eyes and just listen to him. Shanbour was never broke in half while running and there is definitely no drop off in capabilities should Fine go down. He still can't admit Shanbour's positive impact on the team and his abilities. At least Littrell has admitted this to his credit.
  10. Oh there is a reason. When asked in their interview at their next coaching job how well can you recruit? The coach can point to their recruit's stats. The alternative answer could be devestating to their career. An answer such as "well actually an unrecruited walk on beat out my recruit." This is why Shanbour will be used only as an insurance policy should Fine ever go down. In my opinion, he never really had a chance to start from the get go let alone be given the opportunity to see if he could build on his performance of that 1 series which he was in.
  11. Very dumb decision but totally understandable. Some coaches care more about stats for their recruit than wins, if you get my drift? There is no reason to put an injured Fine back in with 1:57 left and the game out of hand. Even when the SMU game was way out of reach, Harrell left his recruit in the whole game. Shanbour's curse is that he came in as an unrecruited player plain and simple. My hat is off to the kid who came in cold off the bench and put a Big 10 defense on their heels and stuffed it down their throats running and passing engineering a 66 yard TD drive in just :28 seconds only to be rewarded with more pine sitting.
  12. BS. If we are going to beat teams with more talent, we need more playmakers back there other than Wilson. It is the O. The D is fatigued. You can't expect them to beat the teams with talent by having no sustained drives and constantly not convert on 3rd downs. That is a lot to ask a D to constantly hold the opposing offense. This so called D who lost the game held Iowa to 10 points in the 1st half when they had their legs.
  13. Agree totally. The drive Shanbour engineered was picture perfect. But alas back to the bench so we can "manage the game"
