  1. FWIW, a sombrero sounds weak to me as well. I agree that it's too early to be talking about rivalries anyway, but if there's going to be a trophy, it should represent both schools. I liked the bird related suggestions.
  2. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience. I didn't see many Mean Green fans tailgating, but it looked like a strong contingent in the dome. Definitely louder than some of the other visitors we've had. Had a good time at Apogee last year despite the cold. Looking forward to next year.
  3. Thanks. You guys (and everyone else) will beat us on the hardwood this season. Might be our worst team ever.
  4. Thanks for the hospitality. Apogee is really nice and your fans were really nice. I got to the stadium much later than I expected so I didn't have much chance to visit, but it was nice to meet All about UNT and SSP. Hope to see y'all next year in SA. Regards, Jeff
  5. /sarcasm You look forward to any and every beer in El Paso.
  6. Cool. Looks like it is close to my hotel.
  7. I'm probably not the best person to ask but I'll give it a shot. I believe they're a little smaller this year, with around 200 members. Not sure about their music style. If I remember correctly, the band director had a pretty good resume, but I don't know the details. Can't get the link to work from my phone, but yes there are a few clips of them on YouTube
  8. Well aware of that policy at most college football venues. However, I was able to enjoy a $9 Bud Light tallboy at the Sun Bowl, so I figured it was worth asking about the policy at Apogee.
  9. thanks. We are staying in Grapevine this trip, though. I'll be there for tailgating and the game.
  10. at least 1000. Our ticket office sold the allotment of 300 really quickly, and started referring folks to your ticket office. RowdyTalk bought at least 100. Add in the band, players' families, etc. Not sure how many D/FW area alumni might show up.
  11. Thx for the tips. I usually carry a flask, since I inadvertently discovered that the metal caps on some mini-bottles will set off the metal detecting wands.
  12. Forgive me if it's been asked already, but does the stadium sell beer and/or liquor?
  13. hard to say. I know our allotment was only 250-300, and sold out, so our ticket office referred fans to UNT to buy tickets. I don't know how many purchased through UNT. Rowdytalk's group buy is around 125 IIRC. Add the band, players' families, etc. I'd guess at least 1000. Wish it was 7000.
