Sept. 22 at Auburn, Sept. 29 vs. Texas A&M, Oct. 6 vs. Alabama Any stretch that includes both Alabama and Auburn in a span of three weeks is never for the faint of heart. Both the Crimson Tide and Tigers will again be loaded on defense this season, and with first-year coach Chad Morris taking on a major rebuilding job at Arkansas, finding a way to even get to 20 points against Alabama and Auburn will be a chore for the Hogs, who were 1-7 in the SEC last season. Sandwiched between the Auburn and Alabama games is a home date against No. 23 Texas A&M, which has won six in a row over Arkansas, with three of the past four being overtime games. Can we catch the hogs looking ahead to their next three games when we visit on the 15th? A Mean Green early two score lead and shoot out down the stretch would be great, although special teams could be a concern against athletes in the sec...4 points

What exactly is the fault of the AD? Should they refuse to play Thursday and forfeit the game because our alumni can't be bothered to attend?3 points

I have a feeling that Coach Yellock may have some inside knowledge about this player. Hope that he can convince him to come here. We still need defensive linemen.2 points

Sadly, we're still fighting the battle for recognition and respect. Even though we made it to the championship game, "at the end of the day" we got our asses handed to us twice by FAU and then by Troy. It is going to take a couple more nine or ten win seasons before CBS and their ilk come around, IMHO.2 points

I snickered thinking about the poor FAU fans having to watch the TV broadcast not starting until 9:30 pm their time, but then reality set in that that only really affects a dozen or so Floridians.2 points

I thought it would be interesting to look back at the class that just completed their fourth year on campus. Some have graduated, a few have a year of eligibility left and others left the program for one reason or another. Here is how they rated at the time of signing based upon 247's system. 1. Caleb Chumley: 3 star, .8289 2. Tee Goree: 3 star, .8247 3. Fonzale Davis: 3 star, .8137 (never made it to campus) 4. Willy Ivery: 3 star, .8113 5. Brandon Garner: 2 star, .7955 6. Jalen Adams: 2 star, .7942 7. Connor Means: 2 star, .7915 8. Christopher Miles: 2 star, .7817 9. Andrew Jones: 2 star, .7783 10. Okeeron Rutherford: 2 star, .7783 11. Shaquel Jackson: 2 star, .7724 (don't believe he made it to campus) 12. Tillman Johnson: 2 star, .7683 13. Jeffery Wilson: 2 star, .7676 14. Avery Fortenberry: 2 star, .7667 15. Johnavhan Graham: 2 star, .7650 (never made it to campus) 16. Jalen Montgomery: 2 star, .7531 17. Akii Smith: 2 star, .7518 18. Kishawn McClain: 2 star, .7330 19. Trevor Moore: 2 star, .7330 20. TJ Tauaalo: 2 star, .7330 21. Josh Greer: 2 star, .7000 22. Matthew Dash: 2 star, .70001 point

We have this print out posted in every locker room and any board space we have. Here is a link that can be a major reason some schools don't offer a kid. http://www.ncaa.org/sites/default/files/2018DIEC_Requirements_Fact_Sheet_20180117.pdf1 point

I think that he's been given an illegal HGH. Not yet two years old and he's already finished high school, weighs 230, and can deep snap at the FBS level.1 point

Get a grip guys. TV contracts are not about respect, but instead eyeballs on the TV. CBS picks the games they think they can get the most viewers to sell TV ads. Notice that 4/9 regular season games involve out-of-conference match ups... Houston, Indiana, Virginia Tech, and NC State. If I were paying big time $$$ for games, I'd do this too. They try to get games that can generate the most fan/viewer interest.... When they broadcast our UNT vs. FAU game, if they have fantastic numbers, they will want to pay for more UNT games... fans need to turn out for our game and on TV.1 point

Looking at both schedules we will have an advantage. We get a bye week, go to ODU, and play them at home. FAU plays 4 in a row then travels to Texas on a short week. We will need every advantage to hopefully beat an undefeated ranked team in front of a sellout crowd broadcasted on national t.v. with a quite a few recruits in attendance.1 point

SMU is coming off a beating by a La Tech team that we beat at their own place. They lost their star receiver to the NFL (you know, the one who put up 28 of 54 points on us). They're breaking in a new head coach. They're playing in Denton. Yeah, it's entirely possible that they win, but it's not probable at this point. It's going to take them at least 3-4 games to even adjust to the new coaching staff. Don't get me wrong, it's not a guaranteed win and Vegas still has it as a tossup. It just doesn't look good for SMU as a first game. I'd honestly be surprised if they won any of their first four games. Rough schedule.1 point

Jesus you are the whiniest poster on here. Maybe take some cheese with you and make your own board: The Whine and Green. The younger folks are the one's leading the charge for a better football culture, but how would you know since all you do is complain and feel entitled to it?1 point

Am I the only one that doesn't have a HUGE issue with this game being on Thursday? I'm just going to drive up after work and try to catch the game. It's late enough where rush hour traffic can die down. I think we can still retain a good student crowd, I'm a little worried about the alumni side though. I don't want to step on any toes, but this is warned well enough in advance to make arrangements with work, prior engagements, etc. If we want to be a leader of the pack in the G5, we need to be flexible as fans IMO1 point

I believe we should have a Cherokee Nation appreciation night. We could reduce ticket prices for members, work with them on transportation, have pre game recognition, create a scholarship, etc. i have long wondered why someone in the AD dept. hasn't thought of this. I know the Cherokee Nation is very proud of Mason.1 point

Overall this class was pretty awful. You have McClain, Moore and Wilson as studs. TJ, Garner, Johnson, Miles as a solid contributors but outside of that not much to write home about. Would have loved to see Ivery in this (current)offense. I know he played 2015, but that was the first year. He could've been a big time player for us.1 point

This makes the most sense based on where he is from and North Texas is definitely a step up. We could increase the salary, but not to the point that we would have to if we went after Lombardi or Gasso.1 point

So little coverage for a team that played in the conference championship.0 points

Because their football programs have 20 fewer scholarships so it’s easier to make title IX requirements. Plus, fcs schools don’t have the arms race to deal with like fbs schools. Go to Montana st...their weight room is the size of a big closet.-1 points

At least w/o Sutton and Quinn we might make a game of it, but considering the last three years us being favored borders on ludicrous. Very smal crowd since nobody but older alumni care. Too hot for students and band, and Denton won't learn that there was even a game until after Labor Day.-1 points

The short week and late start will help us immensely. I'm not sure it will be enough to overcome the talent gap but anything helps. That said, to make this move for CBSSN is one of the few bad decisions by the AD thus far. Our conference television agreement is complete trash I don't understand why if we're making pennies we don't at least have an agreement with ESPN. The casual fan still watches ESPN, CBSSN is no where on the radar. We are not getting any new eyeballs on our product, I don't really see the benefit. I could see a big student turnout and that would be great for TV, I can also see an awful turnout if we have a .500 record or so coming in to the game. Still I can't help but roll my eyes at the people complaining about getting home at 12 or 1 on a weeknight.. live a little guys.-1 points
