That was more of the defense making a mistake than the kid making a play. Seems like confusion over who had outside contain.7 points

I refuse to be cocky about this. I know they couldn't keep up with the speed/shooting we've demonstrated thus far, I just worry that at some point we'll get gassed and/or shooting simmers down. Hope it's not next week.5 points

I feel like the numbers comes out is meant to show the fan base how much help is needed. It puts pressure on the fan base in a good way. For people that do care, it should show that even a small 1 time donation every year for $20 bucks helps. It’s not going after people who donate.. it’s presenting people who do donate with information for them. If I get a letter and it shows that .03% of Alumni donate, when I do meet up with friends and we talk about UNT or a friend comes with me to a game, that is when someone who does donate says hey you should look into donating.. Word of month from me to you is far more effective than a random Facebook post or tweet. Also, presenting those numbers to donors should not annoy them. It’s meant for the season ticket holders who aren’t members to see the benefits and see how much of a difference it can make.4 points

The difference between us winning this thing or not is Duffy. Him healthy has been the missing piece to our offense. We look like a different team when he's on the court. If he can play like he has been, I'm confident.3 points

I hope his relationship with North Texas is good. He was a warrior here but the fact that his degree is from McNeese always troubled me. I know why. I just wish his degree was green rather than blue. GO MEAN GREEN3 points

Totally agree, but you know as well as I do that the folks on gmg.com don’t want the MWC. They prefer closer travel. I don’t agree, as the MWC is a huge jump up, especially when the G2 does become a reality.3 points

Freak athlete, squatted 275 in 8th grade after he did three sets of 225 6 times. One of my all time favorites, kid is very humble (almost to a fault), but he'll do anything you ask. I'm so proud of him and all the hard work he has put in. I told him when he played for me in MS he was a D1 athlete. Currently holds Oklahoma State, Utah State, and UNT. We have a very good chance of landing him, he's very close with family and Denton would be an easy trip. I am pretty sure I've got a thread on him somewhere else that I made when he was an 8th grader.2 points

Our congress is back to spending like drunken sailors. Below a list of the 25 house reps who had the guts to put their foot down, and Texas only had two, Gohmert and Weber. In the Senate that sack Cornyn helped McConnell insert gun control measures into it. Cruz voted no. $1.3 Trillion more added to our children's future. Some day we'll pass the point of no return. And now Trump signed it, mostly to fund the military, though vowing to never sign another one. Yeah we'll see. . Terrible! Rick2 points

I don’t like this for Riley. The expectations of the last Dodge that was HC, and the unrealistic views of SLC fans that they are “owed” championships, will make it hard for him. To me this would be like Jimmy Johnson’s kid taking over the Cowboys HC job...all the resources in the world, but a fanbase ignorant to the fact that other teams have athletes and money too.2 points

I like our chances. I really like how Simmons is starting to kind of play into his role nicely and not play into foul trouble so quickly. I know shooting is what has allowed this run, but there is no denying we are a better team when he is not in foul trouble and has a presence on the floor.2 points

The steam is someone's imagination. I believe, for any conference to be successful it can only afford to have one school with ZERO academic standards (you know who I am talking about), so Troy will always be a no vote for me in this fantasy endeavor!2 points

It is a place for people who either are ready to buy into wide-eyed groupspeak nonsense or are willing to proclaim it despite knowing it’s nonsense. And I’m not talking about the actual spiritual stuff. All that sadness we read about Liberty and shutting down the naysayers; Liberty didn’t invent that.2 points

They are doing something like a 5K before the game. Along with a garage sale having a lot of items that fans are sure to want. Come early because it’s not going to be a typical game, and I believe it should only be about 2 hours long. Hope some people make it over to soccers game vs Baylor or the softball games!2 points

Can't +1 anymore today. Consider this one. That would be the only logical conclusion as this would basically create a "G2" (AAC & MWC), and some kind of other classification for the above nonsense. We cannot get mixed up in all of that... Not now that we're starting to get serious.2 points

Keep in mind that everyone still playing now is probably playing their best basketball of the season. I know that's the case for USF, who opened as 3.5 point favorites for the game on Monday.2 points

This may have been mentioned previously, but I don't think there is a difference between Nic Smith and DeAndre Torrey. Would have been nice if the department could have had rosters available for a spring game. There wasn't anything that stood out other than the Fine/Guyton connection. Smallest attendance I've seen in years. Happy to see work well underway for Mean Green Track & Field. So much activity taking place today. Soccer, softball, spring game and some event at the Pit.1 point

I'll admit that there needs to be some degree of overhaul but this is not the answer. I don't like the one conference to begin with. I predict there were many different amounts paid to join a conference and dividing any revenue that many ways is unfeasible. TV contracts would have to be redone. What would happen to the basketball tournament conference slots? There should be standards set and any teams that cannot meet those standards should drop to 1-AA/FCS. Lastly, who flip-flopped ULM and La Tech geographically? No way, in my book.1 point

As far as I know, most Good Friday worship centers around the period from Noon to 3:00 p.m.. Friday is also a "twofer" this year because of the way the calendars align, so our Jewish friends will be celebrating the first night of Passover. Another reason to wrap it up on Wednesday night!1 point

Posted this in another thread. " SF is led by Boum, a freshman who is averaging 11.3 points per game. He shoots 36% from the 3 and has hit 41 treys. They have one slow 6'9" dude, McCarthy, that's averaging 8 points and 5 rebounds per game. They have one athletic 6'7" averaging 5 rebounds and 5.8 points a game. Farrari is averaging 11 points per game. Shoots 37% from the 3 and has 57 treys. Ratinho, 6'5" guard, averaging 10 points a game, shooting 41% from the 3 and has 77 treys. They average 42% from the floor, 68% from the stripe and 33% from 3 with 289 3's on the season. They lost to Gonzaga all three times they faced them, playing within 9 one time. In comparing like opponents.... They lost to San Diego by 10 in San Diego.(We beat SD in double OT there) They beat Central Arkansas by only 2..78-76. Central Arkansas got routed by Jacksonville State last Monday night. Rick1 point

Do you want some kind of validation that UH is higher up the G5 food chain than UNT is? I mean, really, that is not what that hard to admit. We have gotten somewhat serious to very serious about sports here within the last 5-10 years. You guys started caring about sports in the 60's, at least, while being the school inside a hugely populated and growing mega-city in the US. Its not comparable. Y'all got the SWC--we didn't. Y'all got CUSA/AAC, we didn't. With all of those advantages you all have had, how amazing it is to only now be one rung below you guys on the FBS totem pole? I mean just 30 years ago, we were I-aa and y'all were in the SWC while it was still a 9-member major conference, that was at least 3 or 4 rungs below you. 20 years ago, we were in a fledgling Big West conference, while y'all were in CUSA1.0, which was still thought of very highly for football and basketball, which again was about 2 or 3 rungs below you. Now, you are in the AAC, a very solid G5 conference, but no farther up from us than a rung on the FBS ladder. And the great part about all of this is that we get the chance again to see how much progress we have made in the last few years when we play you guys--with a coach that actually knows how to run a modern offense. I'll be very disappointed if we don't win at least one of those games, much like Texas State and UTSA have done to you guys in recent seasons.1 point

For a UH fan, trolling this board would have made much more sense two years ago than it does now. By now UH is essentially back with the rest of the G5s again. Also: you can say a lot about Benford and Mac but neither got us into hot water with the NCAA or was sleeping with the students. Macs tenure actually ended with a top ten APR. Most importantly: they are both gone and were replaced with coaches who seem to be un the up and up. Sampson and Applewhite, on the other hand, are still very much UHs current reality, and even if they took a pay cut I wouldn't want either over MacCasland and Littrell. Two years from now we will be replacing our coaches, as will UH, but for very different reasons.1 point
