  1. How do you know that UNT might have passed on him. Don't know all the specifics. Don't automatically throw UNT under the bus....

  2. When a 5-10, 165 lb walk on scores 23 pts, snags 4 rbs, has 2 assists, and goes 8 for 11 with 6 three pointers he deserves praise. I know Smart was incredible but we don't win this game without DJ as well. In the post game McCasland said he is our best shooter.

  3. Just to put things in perspective he had offers from FCS: Northern Colorado, SE Louisiana, Eastern Illinois, Murray State, Florida A&M, Alabama A&M, Samford, SE Missouri St, Tennessee Tech, Northern Arizona, Fordham, Youngstown State, Arkansas- Pine Bluff, Indiana State, University of Tennesee Martin, Saint Francis, Maine, Portland State, Abilene Christian, Western Illinois, Southern Illinois, North Carolina Ag and Tech State University, FBS: New Mexico State, UTEP, Kent State, Akron, UNT, Ohio why are we not more more excited than we are?? 6 FBS offers, 22 FCS offers. Kid can obviously ball. KU and Oregon state showed a lot of interest, think he was just lower on the board.

  4. Kid made me a friendly coach/player wager as an incoming 8th grader, that he'd clean 185 before end of his 8th grade year. He didn't quite make it but wasn't incredibly close, and I won. But really he won bc I was 100% bought in on the kids work ethic by the end of his 8th grade year. I'd love to see him on the field repping UNT and making plays.

  6. Nose for the football, loves the weight room his father is a strength and conditioning coach. Father played at Hardin, older brother played at Hardin he went there as a family thing. Little brother is going to Auburn for Baseball. Very athletically drive family. I can see him contributing next year at least as a special teams player. He loves contact. I think he is better than McDonald the LB kid that just graduated.

  7. Depth is one thing. I understand depth. I want guys that can actually make a difference, not guys that are just gonna take up a roster spot. Granted, we don't know what we have yet because we haven't seen practices/games with the new guys. S. Mose stepped in and played well, but Murray is still a concern and we have to replace the RG/RT.

  8. Totally just for fun. What problems did I have with JJ other than his recruiting his first few years? Serious question.

  9. Question that needs to be brought up.. Where was UNT? Did TCU say he could not go to another school in DFW/Tx? The rich get richer.

  10. Won't be surprised if he wanted to stay home. West Texas has this weird thing where if you don't get out, and get out early, you're stuck there for life. Seems he might be following that path.

  11. Makes me curious that all these O-Linemen with no other offers they keep signing might be complete whiffs. I mean you have a crop of what, 5 RS freshman in the wings, and you're not confident enough to plug any of them in? Maybe their OL evaluations have been bad...

  13. Also, just looking at the AZ recruiting class has signed 16 kids and and multiple WRs, RBs, and S are committed... Worthy point/thing to watch hopefully is the kids from Manvel that Sumlin had gotten to commit to him have not signed with AM, and they are likely blocked by current commits/signees at UA. Hopefully UNT turns Martin lose on them on and brings them up for official visits. Would be a nice addition to get 3 huge pieces late from an SEC school potentially.

  14. 2 things that are interesting about his tape, they pull him a lot as a tackle (so I'm guessing he has some quickness) and he is/seems to be somewhat mobile compared to guys we have had recently. I maybe wrong but when I watched his tape a few days ago, he did have highlights of him blocking vs programs like AZ Western (which has turned out multiple big DL talents). The 2nd thing I noticed/wondered.. His QB was a lefty for a majority of the snaps i watched.. So he was the blind-side protector for the lefty QB... The question is, is he a true- blindside tackle or is he a RT that happened to have a lefty at QB (and is this something JUCOs worry about with talent cycling through 2-3 years?). Quality kid, and would love to have him at RT or RG, with the other JUCO OT Williams at LT. Do think its a bonus to having him here for the spring as well, and hope he can be more productive than the JUCO OL we got mid-year last year.

  21. You want to call someone out go ahead, fact doesn't change, I stand behind what I said. Never said he did a good job, but he was a good guy. You should really just support another program if all you can do is complain about EVERY single move UNT makes. You had your chance to air grievances, where we both brought up things we'd like to see changed in the AD search. Either hop on board and pony up, or take your $ elsewhere it really has gotten tiresome even for a youngster such as myself.

  22. Actually having a relationship with high schools within a 100 mile radius of UNT would be a good place to start. That woul be an improvement over the last guy. Although if the pattern holds, expect this board to make excuses for the new guy because of the adversity the last guy left him, even though those same people supported the last guy until he wasn't at UNT anymore. And a round and round we go...

  29. What are the yellow/premium cash lots over by the softball stadium? I see those pulling into the red/blue lot on Bonnie Brae. As to red/blue, I can never figure out from year to year if I'm able to enter from North Texas Blvd. like I did in 2011. Sometimes it seems to be open, other times I seem to get a little bit of a talking too from people in yellow jackets. So unknowing as to whether I can enter from North Texas Blvd. from week to week, and having to drive down Bonnie Brae is the one inconvenience I face as it is a merely a two lane road, and I have to sit in line behind people who pull up thinking it's a cash lot, wait for them to figure out it isn't, wait for them to receive directions back to the cash lots, then wait for them to back up and turn around against traffic. That one thing really needs some serious improvement. As for opening red/blue lot to cash, people better be paying more than $25 to park there or I'm gonna get a little miffed.

  30. I think the biggest issues is having 20+ OL on scholarship.. it eats into the depth issues on the DL/LB and other spots

  31. $125 for 22 games comes down to about $5.60/game if you were to try to go to every game. Even if you only went to half the games since two games are played at the same time the first two days, it's still about $10/game for four days of basketball. I'm sure they will sell single game tickets as well. EDIT: Also here is the court layout. I used this when determining what seats I wanted to purchase (area in purple).

  38. What Haiti is or African countries... is not the issue.... it is about his obscene classless comment and lack of respect for others....... He has a history of insulting so many groups and people and calling people insulting names like a sixth-grade bully. His conduct with women is not to be admired either.

  39. To be fair, not everyone found President Trump's comment about 'Shithole countries' offensive: “spoke blunt, hard truth.” David Duke, former Grand Wizard KKK if the French dominated Haiti, “they could make it great again.” Richard Spencer, commenting on our President's statement “encouraging and refreshing, as it indicates Trump is more or less on the same page as us with regards to race and immigration.” Neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer. These comments were reported on Fox - http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/12/politics/trump-latest/index.html

Even I know that even if you even spell hit spell check, even is still a word spelled correctly, so even if you hit spell check, it wouldn't catch even as being a misspelled word. This event doubles as earning the nick name, Bert Frito.....

  42. This. I think RV was a terrible AD--like worse than anyone we have had, considering the advantages he had over anyone before him. But TV dictated the start of that game. And I wouldn't hold my breath on CUSA doing us any favors on a better start time (after 6:00) for our opener against SMU. Based off of how little care they had for our bowl interests after winning the CUSA West division and allowing the I-Bowl to basically choose who they wanted instead of honoring the conference's standings, I expect nothing from CUSA leadership to help us.
