  1. Everybody needs a safety school. After all, that's where you ended up after failing out of NT.

  2. Left them after one year recruited players for UNT on ASU’s Dime took all the assistants with him took a player already on their roster. Current recond is 6 - 13 and 1-5 in conference loses to a bunch of shithole schools.

  4. To be fair, in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when my (and probably some others' here) ancestors from European countries came here, for people in their economic class, Ireland, France, Germany, Scotland, and even England could have been considered "shitholes." (Again, maybe not for the upper echelons at that time, but certainly for those in the lower class.) I think another side of the issue is why we should concern ourselves with which country people emigrate from rather than whether they are willing to put in the effort to create a life and future here.

  6. Nose for the football, loves the weight room his father is a strength and conditioning coach. Father played at Hardin, older brother played at Hardin he went there as a family thing. Little brother is going to Auburn for Baseball. Very athletically drive family. I can see him contributing next year at least as a special teams player. He loves contact. I think he is better than McDonald the LB kid that just graduated.

  7. Said the LSU boosters??? Oh never mind that doesn't fit your narrative. Crappy second half killed us... 10-0 half 17-7 3rd quarter LSU GAME 29-20 half 43-23 3rd quarter. UNT game. So our offense scored and defense came up short in stops. Which of those scores would you take? Troy neutral site in bowl game or homecome game in SEC Oh and I wanted to win the bowl game as much as next guy, but anyone with non green goggles or hating goggles knew Troy was about as tough a draw as possible.

  10. Am I the only one that it drive crazy that professional journalist Bert Frito doesn't proof his own work? Even I know that even if you even spell hit spell check, even is still a word spelled correctly, so even if you hit spell check, it wouldn't catch even as being a misspelled word. This event doubles as earning the nick name, Bert Frito.....

  11. When a 5-10, 165 lb walk on scores 23 pts, snags 4 rbs, has 2 assists, and goes 8 for 11 with 6 three pointers he deserves praise. I know Smart was incredible but we don't win this game without DJ as well. In the post game McCasland said he is our best shooter.

  14. We could have us a Lorenzen on our hands! Kidding. I think this kid is going to be SPECIAL at UNT. 2018 redshirt (Fine is a junior) 2019 mop-up duty/next man up (Fine is a SR) 2020-2021-2022 We have solid options at QB. Reminds me of back in the early-mid 2000s of the QB factory that was UH.

  25. Here's the Houston Chronicle Story: https://www.houstonchronicle.com/sports/rice/article/Rice-drops-close-contest-to-North-Texas-12496715.php I saw a tv report on it last night here in Houston, don't remember which channel, and I can't find it online. But if it wasn't for the end of the report saying that Rice lost, you would have thought they had won - all of the highlights were of them, and their top scorer.

  26. Time for some fun “pure speculation”. I started thinking today; what if Kiffin stays a FAU 3 more years and dominates the conference? How will that impact Seth’s timeline here? Will he stay longer to get a CUSA championship on his resume? Now this is assuming success similar to last year. An undefeated regular run against all G5 level opponents except FAU (assuming we lose to them in the CUSA championship game 3 more times also) still has him extremely marketable and likely to leave sooner rather than later. Also I think it goes without saying that Seth needs to preside over a team that plays consistent decent (upper half of conference) defense to get some of the best P5 jobs offered to him. What do you think? Does Kiffin dominating Seth keeps Seth here longer or no impact?

  29. B.S. You are so jaded, you can't see the good because your view is only focused on what you perceive as negative. It is so easy to stand on your front porch, flying your banner overhead and screaming at the top of your lungs but never put forth the effort to make a positive impact. New A.D. and staff, still yell, new Head Football Coach and staff, still complain, new Head Basketball Coach and staff, still pound the pulpit. What is good enough for you because it appears nothing? Revised master plan with a new Soccer/Track facility on the books to be built, fundraising about to wrap up for a new IPF, improvements and optimism all around, but you just "Eyore" everything. I challenge you to share something constructive or positive. It appears you can't and that is why people say "just leave." You just complain over and over and it is just plain old tiring.

  31. With the addition of Torrey, improvement of Smith and Johnson, and first year for Siggers, we are loaded with athletic running backs (just like receiver). Their performance all hinges on the OL being able to improve, and becoming more physical and reliable in short yardage situations.

  33. You want to call someone out go ahead, fact doesn't change, I stand behind what I said. Never said he did a good job, but he was a good guy. You should really just support another program if all you can do is complain about EVERY single move UNT makes. You had your chance to air grievances, where we both brought up things we'd like to see changed in the AD search. Either hop on board and pony up, or take your $ elsewhere it really has gotten tiresome even for a youngster such as myself.

  34. Yay! I love Leila. We had so much fun in our French classes. We were 2 of the few who could speak well enough to joke in French during class discussion. Our awesome TF was Shelley Bruce, who totally encouraged it because it was a practical use of what we were learning!

  37. Some observations: It seems McCasland has speeded up the offensive game. It may just be for teams he thinks he can out talent. Read Lawson was out, but were was Duffy? Draper had an overall good game. Does NT's one ship go to him? Temara seems to be in a slump. Need him much more active to be a big factor in the conference. Smart is playing at a NT historical level. First team all conference? Time to win some home CUSA games.

  41. Pretty sweet to beat all of our CUSA Texas bunkmates on the road so far. Smart is one hell of a player. Team continues to grow week in and week out. With this type of progression, we’re going to be a handful for anyone in the CUSA tournament.

  42. Exactly...and why should this be any different? Do the students decide if the university wants to increase funding for research? Or to building another classroom? Or hiring distinguished professors? Or to buy new lab equipment? The list can go on and on and this should be no different. The final decision should be up to the Board of Regents. They are the ones that approve of the budget. Athletics are the closest alumni tie to the university and denial could adversely affect alumni giving. True, it could also influence the decision of prospective students but if we remain competitive with other Texas universities we will likely lose very few students. There are limits on the amount of athletic fees that can be charged in Texas by state institutions.

  45. I'm sorry, but having students, more specifically UNT students, with this kind of power over athletics is absurd. Are we doing this out of respect to the student body? Or does it have to be done in this manner. If not, cut the small talk, pull the rug out from underneath their bleeding hearts, and get it done.
