Glad the Athletic Center was built. We certainly needed it. But......... It is way too small. It should have been at least double the size. More money, for sure. But now we have to go back, re-work and re-do the damn thing. Small thinking on our part. Lack of donor money and and UNT vision from the top. And think about it. The field at Apogee has never been named after a generous donor.

Very large. We were luck to get the Liberty Christian property when we did, though. Not all that happened under RV was bad, folks. GMG!

The huge loss to FAU makes it tough to get any Top 25 votes in my mind.

I don't like flag stuff but this isn't the worst I've seen.

How about the cannon just fires the ashes of a different longtime fan every couple of years while we do a unified chant over "Old Time Rock N Roll" complete with a jumbotron scroll of every grievance said fan had with the athletic department before they passed? Monetize it and require a $1000 donation and paperwork - like a Mean Green will.

Shameless plug, if you can make it to the Star Thursday night we will need as many people screaming for the Black and Gold of TC as possible. Trying to take down our second top 10 team in the state this year. Game starts at 7 pm and tickets are $10.

You do realize NT is in year 2 of a complete rebuild, right? We still haven't seen this team's full potential for an entire 4 quarters. I'm pretty sure you know that as well. I think when we actually see that game from the Mean Green, then maybe we could raise up the style points expectations. Right now, we just need to win these games. Winning begets winning. Again, several people have already gone over this with you, but: - "back ups"... not 100%-sure who you're referencing here, but I think you were saying this about LATech. You MUST understand that LATech's "back ups" are still on-par with the rest of our conference... because they're winners, they've recruited & developed quality depth due to their sustained success. Quality win on the road. - "comeback program"... I was with you right after this game, but as time has unfolded, that is also a quality win. Heck, that team is still ranked ahead of UNT in some polls! - "2-5 team"... ST's spotted them 14pts. That is frustrating, of course. Otherwise, this was a pretty nice game. Heck, you didn't even mention UTEP, which was just as frustrating (if not moreso) in the 1st half. Please understand that there is still a ways to go, then sit back, have faith we'll get there, and enjoy the ride.

That's effing fantastic! Leading the entertainment and PHYSICALLY ENGAGED! Thats what top quality, Division 1 college mascoting looks and sounds like. I sent an email to the sponsorship over at Student Activities earlier today letting them know whoever in hell was in the suit Saturday deserves to be commended. It's not easy, it's tiring and exhausting. But that's mascoting and I love seeing this! I hope SA sees this as well. Great job Scrappy crew. Rick

IF we win out, take the whole thing, Conference Championship, Bowl game win, the whole 9 yards. I predict that we’ll end up #25. And UTSA will be #24, even if they don’t win another game.

It has been said that they would "ideally" like to connect it and that is likely the long-term goal (no idea why its not posted) but they didn't have the current funding to connect it as of now.. Meaning it would be connected in the future Hopefully I can explain this thought clear enough.. But I would think the Hill-Tailgating still stays with the Frats and likely the people who currently tailgate/park at fouts taking over the present day Red/blue lots... the current Red/Blue tailgaters, I would assume move to the new tailgating area... I'm also going to assume one of the biggest issues is fans going from Red/Blue lots to gates 1 and 2. Didn't even notice that, thanks... Also, props to the people that said they were looking at replacing the Superpit this time last year.

You sir, are serious about success at UNT!! I think it's just me and you... maybe @AustinFromUNT too, but I'm not sure about his motives. IIRC, I believe @oldguystudent predicted an undefeated year, preseason. So, he can join us. Also, @SilverEagle has repeatedly told us he hasn't come here to lose. So he can also join us. Anyone else jumping on the National-Champs-in-2019-or-bust train?

We didn't hire him to sell seats, we hired him to win games. Mission accomplished. Listen I go to every game, have only missed 2 home games since the inception of the program in 2001. South Florida is a complex marketplace similar to Dallas. the baseline should be 16k; big games 20k; and huge games sell out. It is what it is. I really don't care if people will come, when they come they will come. I will tell you the conference championship game will have a good attendance. It's an event, South Florida is an event town. I will tell you the home side can be misleading. If not familiar, we have a deck area with tiki bar that anyone can stand, drink, socialize and watch the game (its basically from the 35 to 35 between the lower level and upper level. The 100 level on the home side is filled, the 200 level looks empty but they are standing around the deck area watching the game. Trust me, its packed. But even with all of the excuses I think our athletic director has been negligent and should be fired. We have had an increase in attendance this year but not nearly what you would expect with Kiffin and the winning we have had. Part of the problem is all of the losing in recent years, honestly I think their is a large population who has no idea you are in our conference and had no idea when we played that it was a show down of undefeated division leaders. Hopefully hosting a championship game and going to a bowl will infuse some excitement for next season that will pay dividends in the future. Unfortunately for the rest of conference, I don't expect Kiffin to be moving on after this season, I wasn't thinking that at the beginning of the year. So come on down 12/2, it should be perfect weather and I think a great game. Entirely different than the first. Look at it this way, you could have had to go to Marshall or WKU for the championship game, just horrible in December and the rest of the year! GO OWLS! It doesn't help that U of Miami has had a resurgence this year. Entertainment dollars are finite; and sporting events, movies, zoo are all expensive. FAU is not a cheap ticket. Used to be able to go to a sporting events on a budget. Those days are gone. But this is not my problem, write me a check and solve it for you.

Something we haven't considered yet. How many top 10-15 program assistants are out there that haven't even entered into the conversation yet. The Kirby Smarts of the world. You're going to have to throw those into the discussion as well. Littrell is just now starting to get serious buzz. It seems most G5 coaches take a few sustained good years before they make the leap. (I personally don't understand the anointment of Chad Morris. I like him but he has an overall losing record (.382% to be exact) and headed for at best, barely over .500 this year. I don't think there is anyway in hell A&M would hire a sub .500 coach that's never sniffed the top 25 or a conference championship and pay him $5-$6 million a year but the media runs with this narrative....it's crazy) Didn't the buzz surround PJ Fleck for 2-3 years before he jumped? He went 1-11 his first year then went 8-5, 8-5 and THEN went 13-1 with a New Years 6 Bowl and that got him to Minnesota. Not Wisconsin. Littrell will be seen as a HUGE risk at this point in his coaching career. He has done a remarkable job turning around the program but look at it objectively from a big program's POV. He hasn't recruited a class ranked close to the top of CUSA yet. Maybe rankings don't matter (but they do) but you have to look at the holistic picture of Seth Littrell. I think his success has to sustain through next year and maybe the year after. If he wants to hold out for a GOOD P5 job vs the first one that comes available....it will probably take a little longer than that. I like the buzz. It's good for our program. If he wins out this year or maybe goes 3-1 and then wins 10 next year....maybe we pull off the stunner at Arkansas? He'll probably get his first interviews. Then the schedule the next year in Fine's senior year shapes up to where I think we could be in discussion as one of the top G5 teams in the country. Maybe a New Years 6 threat assuming the stars align. And I have to think he knows that. If that were to happen....he'll be a top 2-3 candidate and he could be looking at some bigger programs.

Well you could have won the game against us and you would have hosted! BUT you didn't and therefore you get to play in front of seats. I went to the ticket office yesterday and they said the season ticketholder demand for the CCG tickets is almost zero. They are expecting 2,500 people on 12/2. You guys should be happy, with no one there the last game you got crushed, if anyone cared about UNT down in South Florida it could have gotten real ugly.

It will be just mind boggling to imagine the heads that will want to explode within the UNT Family if SL got a raise like this for 2018. Just thinking about the fact that we wouldn’t pay out an extra $300k to get rid of Todd Dodge because it would cost us an extra year of his contract in 2010 , it really does illustrate how different things are right now. Here’s to hoping it never goes away again in Denton...

The big wins will come. This is a very young team that will be returning most of the starters next year. That being said, I really think the FAU game was just what Coach Littrell said. They got cocky and then got humbled. I am willing to bet that they will not underestimate anyone again. They didn't underestimate UTEP. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. Granted the offense started slowly, but once they got going, there was little doubt who the best team was.

Really think they could potentially pick up somemore donations potentially and give fans another sense of improvement.

I was listening to national Fox News on my Sirious car radio this morning & they mentioned this story, but said that it had happened at the University of North Texas. UNT should send them a note asking them to correct that & tell them it did not happen on our campus. Anyone else remember the fancy multi-story hotel in Kansas City years ago when something similar like this happened? Yet in that tragedy limbs were found in various spots where the floor had fallen on party go'ers and many died. Our UNT students were very blessed this last Saturday night that no one died. Matter of fact, almost a miracle that no one did.

Why are you just focused on point spread? We just drubbed UTEP, we held on to a 1 point lead in Ruston for nearly half of the 4th quarter, we came back with a minute to go to beat UTSA, etc. I think 7-3 is pretty damn impressive.

I understand that you say they are older because some are juniors. However, Jenkins is not really a starter, Brooks is. Jenkins adds depth, but we will be okay without him because I am sure there are guys developing behind him. Baulkman has played sparingly this year so not a big loss. Tillman Johnson won't hurt as much either if English comes back and is healthy. I think this program is on the rise. They are older in that they are not Freshmen and Sophomore, but they are not Seniors either so most starters will be back. There are a lot of Redshirt Freshmen that are waiting in the wings. All good college programs have that. There are many guys who are not playing for Alabama right now because there is a Junior in front of them, but they never really have any drop off in performance year after year. Do we need to recruit better defensively? Sure, but the winning will help. I am already starting to see more 3 star recruits committing because they like what is going on in #NewDenton. Right now we are taking 2 Star and below recruits and coaching them up to 3 Star and higher level. I see us starting to get 3 Star recruits and coaching them up to 4 Star and higher level.

I'd kinda like to see that. I swear there are two things I've heard from every college campus I've ever visited: 1) We were Playboy's #1 party school in 19XX 2) Every weekend the city of XX drinks more than 2% of all beer sold in the entire nation.

Just in passing, there have been several posts suggesting that we should move to the MWC if at all possible .However, there also have been several posts against playing a bowl game in Albuquerque because its too far to travel. The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque is the closest MWC school to UNT.

I’m all for parking near the stadium, but I’m never going to use any of the rest of that, so just build a real tailgating park.
