Yes, the fans looking ahead somehow caused the players to look ahead. Talk about a false sense of importance.16 points

well Fine puts 40+ on everyone, it's our secondary that we are worried about. I originally was planning a fun weekend trip to Colorado with the GF. Told her today we are tailgating and going to the UNT game instead! (She went to TWU and she was cool with it) Lets pack the house for this one!9 points

Not impressed. We need to be up for this game and have everyone at the top of their game. I don't want just a win, I want an ass kicking next week.8 points

UT San Antonio is coming to town this week and they’re gonna be pissed. While I’m as happy as anybody that they lost, we need to be ready for them to come out with their hair on fire. I’m not expecting this to be an easy game at all and neither should anyone else.6 points

So... the two teams we have beat so far have beat the two teams we need to beat in the next few weeks... i hope our team straps it up for next week and helps UTSA go quietly into the cold night in the conference standings.6 points

That UAB team is good. We still should have beaten them by more, but at least we know LATech is beatable. I change my prediction of seeing 1 more "L" on our schedule to: I don't see any "Ls" on our schedule.6 points

I just want to point out the value of Trevor Moore and his PAT record. Florida could have tied LSU late but missed the PAT on a late TD. Similar issue here for La Tech. Makes me appreciate Moore even more.6 points

Yes, because the fans are the team. They are still delusional. Readying through the Rowdy thread Harry posted did show a few things ... 1. Someone noted they were coming off a bye so that maybe why they started slow. True or not we have to watch out for the same issue this week. UTSA is not a team I want to play behind as they've got some talent up front on defense. 2. A couple of the oline got hurt and supposedly they are already lacking depth there. 3. Many over there seem to really dislike Sturm. He is limited in his ability but I think he still plays really well in that system.5 points

We got a half game over UTSA and La Tech and didn't even have to run a play. Sole possession of first place in the CUSA West. Back to work. GO MEAN GREEN5 points

I agree. This team has presented a bucket of issues for us in the past. We had better come out and be extra crispy in our execution. This game could come down to Trevor Moore's leg, Wilson's strong thighs and packing loud fans into the wing.4 points

We have a delicious chance to put them out of the conference race this Saturday. After the horror I have seen them unleash in Apogee and the Alamodome I would love for us to seize this golden opportunity! GMG4 points

I among those who believed he would be successful. I, however, did not want to go with triple option to be successful, and we are gaining traction with a system that connects with the players we want to attract.4 points

They're gonna be mad next week. One thing about UT Tyler, they've always been a good bounce back team. Just think back in their history. For years, they've been know as a bounce back team. I don't think their Big 12 invite is in jeopardy though.....too much history to overlook.4 points

I completely agree. That's why I'm loving this match up today. We've played USM so this should give us a good idea of what UTSA has to offer this year. I'd put money on UTSA because I think they have the better quarterback but I am expecting a close game today and would not be surprised if USM wins. One game won't make much of a difference. You know what would make a huge difference? Winning the division title and a UTSA loss today makes that a little bit more likely.4 points

I've done the math and it turns out that our 19% plus UTSA's 10% means there's less than a 30% chance that anyone will win next Saturday's game.3 points

I still say everyone got all jazzed up by their 3-0 start. Had they not been able to skip the Houston game, they would be 3-2 and seen as a middle of the pack CUSA team. They wouldn't have stupid articles written about them going undefeated. They just got beat at home by a team we hammered at their place. They beat Baylor yes. But there is a good chance they go 0-fer this year. I'm not going to overlook them. The only thing that worries me is for some reason they've had our number. But I simply think we're the better team and I fully expect to win this game. They WERE this year's "sexy" pick. We know what happens to sexy teams that come to Denton after starting off hot.... If we lose this game the coaches will have some explaining to do....3 points

USM was able to run it, believe they had something like 230+ rushing yards in the 3rd QTr.. no idea how we rank in terms of our OL vs UTSA DL, but Ito Smith is the #1 threat for USM and he ran over them at times.. Wilson I like to think is every bit as good (and likely much better) as Smith. UTSA seemed to struggle with Howard’s ability to run, Fine should be able to find space but this is a game Quinn should come in some to run but to even throw as well to mix it up on UTSA. Guyton is going likely going to be have coverage tilted to him, so Rico/Smiley need to come up this week. Lawerence will be critical as well.3 points

I just earned myself a 2-day ban from r/cfb. For what reason I don't know. Don't care. Worth it.3 points

We beat USM at their place, and they beat UTSA in San Antonio. So, by extension, we could beat UTSA at the KFC parking lot.3 points

They keep showing the most unflattering shots of UTSA coeds chowing down on nachos and french fries3 points

Two big "ifs" here, but if USM can beat UTSA and we beat UTSA the next week, it becomes a two-team race for the West division. We are undefeated right now. We want every other undefeated team to lose.3 points
-
I think you need to explain why UTSA winning helps us in any way? Beating a 4-0 team is no difference than beating a 3-1 team. It might matter if we were trying to move up the top 25 rankings but that's not the case here. We've already got the tie break on USM and a loss by UTSA gives them a loss and could help us down the line when it comes winning the division. Also, as Emmitt said, every loss by UTSA is a loss that the recruits see. I'd rather UTSA leave Apogee at 3-2 than 4-1.3 points
-
Because every loss they suffer is a loss recruits see them take...and right now we need the "luster" to come off the fightin' two-pieces and a biscuit3 points

We are capable of winning out.... We are capable of losing out...... Just play to WIN!3 points

You do know that UTSA losing against S. Miss and S. Miss winning are the same thing, right?3 points

I really like USM +13.5 points against the dirty birds. I think UTSA is getting a little too much credit for their 3-0 start and they have had an extra week to hear how great they are. I think they might even be peeking ahead to the North Texas game. UTSA may win, but I have a hard time seeing them winning by 2 touchdowns. Triple Double Lock of The Year: USM +13.53 points

How can anyone take any site seriously that projects wins and losses? They are all just guesses. RealTimeRPI, using a formula, looks at things like each team's home and away record/performance and from there estimates an outcome. Given we have a horrible road record over the past decade, even a team like Rice has a chance to defeat us if the game is at their place.2 points
