Hey look, we turned a fun, lighthearted topic into a b*tch-fest. That almost never happens!7 points

Okay, this is probably my favorite thing I have seen in a long time. Great production quality, good length, great player, and amazing man. Do we know how many of these there will be, how often they'll come out, or which players they are going to cover?4 points

Not really. For a great idea of who they are, look here: http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/ntex/genrel/auto_pdf/2015-16/misc_non_event/PlatinumEagle.pdf And the number isn't really 17, that is just the number that one particular angry elf fixated on a couple of years ago and it became the moniker for the large donors.4 points

Considering the first half of the schedule, I don't think this impacts the end goal much. We will still beat Lamar and should still beat UAB. An upset against Iowa is a bit more unlikely and SMU is still a toss-up. I don't think Southern Miss will be any better than the team we beat last year so I still think we win that game. Hopefully he's back for UTSA because that's when the schedule gets interesting. End of year, we still go bowling. GMG4 points

RV certainly could not take any credit for DD's success, he didn't hire or support him. I also would limit my praise of RV's relative to facilities. I give him credit for Apogee although I question the low level of donations that went into the construction. Overall NT facilities are better than when RV started, however he was here for over 15 years. Other than Apogee, most of the RV''s adds were hardly first class and all apparently were very poorly maintained. The 17 as stated referred to NT's biggest financial supporters. Some backed RV to the end, but I doubt it was anywhere close to 17. Most are now demonstrating that they were always NT supporters first and that is what is important. The so-called 17 were villainized by a few on here because they supported RV or Benford. Something I don't understand, heavy donors are the backbone of any college athletic department and they certainly can support the people or projects they chose.4 points

DENTON - Mean Green Productions is introducing a mini-series featuring the personal stories and backgrounds of some Mean Green football players prior to their arrival in Denton. “Born and Bred” will take you to the hometowns to meet the families, coaches and communities that helped create their passion forfootball and set them on a path for success. Over the next three weeks, the series will take you to Elkhart, Texas and Rosenberg, Texas to visit the hometowns and explore the journeys of seniors Jeffery Wilson and Kishawn McClain. We will also visit with a couple of local players in Andy Flusche and Tyreke Davis, who decided to stay close to home and why that’s important to them. --From the UNT Website3 points

I really like these glimpses into the players' past. Neat to see where they came from. Can't wait to see more!3 points

This board is a very well ran and templated forum. I am an often visitor of Saturday Down South and GatorZone, and this board is better orchestrated and coded.3 points

Well that's good. Hey only $8.33 a month and I can get access to articles from 2010! What a deal!3 points

SMU announced that every player will have a neck roll. They just made them pink and shaped them like a popped collar to make the players comfortable.3 points

I think I met one of the 17 recently... For the sake of my family, I must stay silent. Sorry, my green brothers.3 points

http://zipsnation.org/forums/topic/37651-2017-camp-thread/?page=1 The son of a friend of mine is playing at Akron (QB #10). Just for fun, you might take a look at this camp thread. Amazingly similar to this board, i.e. complaints about the lack of coverage, about he who covers the team, shots at coaches and players, etc. Lots of other time waste here but I appreciate the quality of our board a bit more after going to this one. WKU has DJ Khaled introduce their new uniforms with a hype video. Meanwhile at North Texas. Our coaches have sleeveless hoodies! Hot Damn. Really will get people excited2 points

Two friend's having a conversation. Friend "A": Are you getting season tickets to North Texas football this year? Friend "B": Maybe. I am waiting to see what the new uniforms looks like. Fried "A": What does that have to do with our team? Friend "B": Nothing, but if we don't change, then I am done."2 points

Looks like they're gonna do at least one more with Kishawn. I remember them tweeting pictures about it a while back2 points

Why can't I like your posts!?!?!?!? This is a perfect example, but you have so many spot on, hilariously well placed comments that I'd like to add a reaction to but I can't.2 points

And that post was in jest because it was a count of the number of suites at Apogee.2 points

Or because he's completely off topic??? The thread is about uniforms. If you want to talk Facilities Master Plan and AD Strategic Plan, why not make a thread dedicated to it?2 points

The 17 are the people who keep this program financially afloat. It's a joke on here because many of them defended RV because, admittedly, the AD used to operate open-door with them. That's one part of the disdain, but mainly it's jealousy.2 points

Really, you just had to derail a decent thread with your "I don't like Trump" stuff. Geeeeez! When did any of us become experts on North Korea?2 points

I have no idea if it has been brought up but English is up and walking around on the foot. It's in a soft walking case.. no idea how long it will be like that but he was walking, standing, and putting weight on it.. also to Harry's point about him staying in shape in terms of conditioning.. I think it will be a set back, but with the depth of the DL it should allow him to be worked in slowly/limited amount and not have to come back day one and play 50-60 snaps.2 points

Try Dr. Mike House. He is the team ortho, grew up in Denton and I think he did his undergrad at North Texas. Good guy2 points

Love it when an Admin calls people out and is a dick about. Kind of lose your credibility when trying to enforce the board rules, but that is just my opinion.2 points

The most notable quotes IMO, and some are giving no effs.... “The Butch Davis thing sounds good and everybody’s fired up, but it’s still FIU.” "When we played there, the stadium was loud, it was packed, kind of unusual for Conference USA.” ODU “They just didn’t have very much playmaking and speed overall, and I don’t see that getting much better." Rice “I don’t have any doubt they’ll get some talented guys, the question is going to be if they can manage the kind of guys they get and not turn it into a circus.” FAU "They’ll be good, but they did lose a lot of skill.” La Tech2 points

He's going to play at A&M Commerce. That's a pretty crappy thing to say when you have no idea if he works or not in the classroom. Could have a severe learning disability, could just be lazy in classroom but to assume either way is not a good look IMO.2 points

No, wrong again. You piped in when I made the statement about Barry drawing a line in the sand with Syria and backing down. You got butthurt but still haven't pointed out where I was wrong. In fact, idiosyncrasies and all, I was 100% correct.1 point
