UNT lost another Sun Belt conference game to Louisiana Monroe tonight 35-23 but for once it really didn’t matter. The real story tonight is the fact that UNT’s student body voted for a key increase in the athletic fee which should lead to a brand new - and much needed - football stadium and event complex. After a week of voting, North Texas students have passed an athletics fee that will bring in millions yearly for the Athletics Department.  The money will first be used to finance a new stadium for the Mean Green football team.

2,829 (59%) YES 
2,038 (41%) NO

Total votes 4,867 (13.9% of student body)
